Emergency Preparedness Training

Carewell SEIU 503 and the Center for Caregiver Advancement have teamed up to create an advanced emergency preparedness training for caregivers like you. Join a 6-week training to learn how to protect yourself and the people you care for during an emergency or natural disaster.

This training covers key topics such as:

  • How climate change impacts health and your community
  • Planning for emergencies, evacuation, and sheltering safely
  • Communicating during an emergency
  • Managing stress

How long is the training?

Each training cohort of 15 participants meets weekly for 6 weeks. Each session is 2.5 hours, for a total of 15 hours of live instruction on Zoom.

Do I have to attend every session?

Participants must attend all 6 sessions. Missing more than 10 minutes during a session counts as an absence, and 3 absences results in being removed from the course.

Other requirements:

You must complete continuing education before signing up for this training. You need to set up a Zoom account before the first session.

Stipend policy

A $349 stipend is available after the course is completed. Participants must attend all 6 sessions to qualify.

This training is currently offered in English, with more languages coming soon.
